As a growing, fast-paced agency, McLellan Writing Team is seeking a content manager to ensure the editorial quality, accuracy, and appropriateness of content we create. Since 1994, we have delivered enterprise-class marketing content for many of the technology companies on the Fortune 500.

This role requires someone highly competent in editing, writing and project management with a high comfort level with highly technical content and demonstrated experience with all of the above. Reporting to the editorial operations manager, the content manager will work closely with our writers and editors to deliver the top-quality content our clients expect. This is a full-time, fully remote position.


  • Coach the team toward consistent delivery of high-quality content that addresses clients’ needs.
  • Assess content to ensure it combines storytelling and technology expertise and meets our quality standards.
  • Edit and write copy on deadline using your sharp wit, superb research skills, and sophisticated yet highly accessible writing style.
  • Ensure consistent application of clients' style and branding guidelines to every asset, suggesting improvements where relevant.
  • Communicate with freelance and in-house writers and editors in a confident, respectful, and supportive manner — knowing their success is your success.
  • Raise the bar for our team in at least one area. Maybe it's SEO. Maybe it's intriguing ice-breaker questions.


  • 5+ years of experience writing and editing marketing content, from video scripts and blog posts to white papers and e-books. Demonstrated experience with global technology enterprises is a must. Agency experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience managing writers or similar creative professionals.
  • Professional and diplomatic manner and superb people skills, including ability to build rapport and effective working relationships.
  • Mastery of US English, especially in written form.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed while collaborating with a fully distributed team.
  • Unending curiosity and desire to expand your knowledge base.
  • Close familiarity with AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style, and other style guides, as well as with branding and marketing guidelines.
  • Familiarity with content-management and project-management systems.
  • Grasp of project-management best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing, information management, or similar preferred.
